Organ Transplant Information System (OTIS) Available for Dialysis Patients

The Organ Transplant Information System's welcome screen

The Addenbrooke's Transplant Team have a computer programme, called OTIS (short for Organ Transplant Information System), which is now available to dialysis patients. It is a useful learning tool which covers all aspects of kidney transplants, including what you can do to prepare yourself for a transplant.

You can read the information from the computer screen or the programme will talk to you. OTIS contains an extensive library of video and audio clips showing people who have undergone a kidney transplant talking about their experiences.

OTIS is available on a laptop computer which is looked after by Addenbrooke's Transplant Co-ordinators. It is also now available on a CD which you can take away and load on to your own computer at home.

If you wish to have a look at the laptop computer whilst you are on dialysis or take away a copy of the CD, simply contact Lucy Kirk, Transplant Coordinator on 01223 348031 or lucy.kirk@addenbrookes.nhs.uk.
