Crown appeal donates £5000 to akpa

AKPA were recently delighted to receive a cheque for £5000 from Amanda Pigg, co-founder of the Crown Appeal.

The Crown Appeal was formed by Amanda and her friend Angela Kenton along with ten of their friends, in order to raise money in memory of Amanda's father (a former dialysis patient) and Angela's mother (who suffered from cancer). The name "Crown" is derived from a combination of their parents' surnames, CRoydon and BrOWN.

The Crown Appeal aims to raise money for AKPA and Cancer Research UK as a gesture of thanks for the help their parents received from these charities. To date they have raised an amazing £14,000 through a variety of events ranging from Princess Parties and craft days to a Grand Ball.

The recent donation to AKPA will be used to fund an ECG machine for the Kings Lynn dialysis unit where Amanda's father, Eric Croydon, received holiday dialysis.

AKPA would like to extend their thanks to Amanda, Angela and their friends for such a tremendous fundraising achievement and wish them all the best with their future fundraising events.
